At Leather Factory Shop, we’ve been making leather jackets for decades. Our leather jacket is the natural counterpart to our iconic waxed cotton jacket, originally designed to provide protection for motorcyclists during the epic chase of cycling and cycling. Our iconic signature leather design is the Trialmaster Panther – the custom-made, drawstring, four-pocket design introduced in 1966 that still exists in 2.0 today and is the flagship of our Icon series. After its release, it became a calling card for rebels and traitors of that time, because rock musicians began to take inspiration from the motorcycle subculture.

Today, however, leather jackets have eschewed many more rebellious overtones and have become a must-have item in any modern wardrobe, regardless of your age or degree of risk preference. Our Spring / Summer 2021 collection embodies this more inclusive look, with a wide range of styles to suit any mood or moment, designed for the real world. Leather jackets are items that you will keep forever. Our meticulous craftsmanship and finishes ensure your jackets are durable. Below, we focus on our favorite leather jackets this season and in the future. Each leather jacket is inspired by its design history, but has a very advanced style.

The concept of a A2 Leather Pilot Jacket dates back to the end of World War II, when motorcyclists began riding light bikes between traffic cafes and motorway stops (such as Ace runway on London’s North Ring), with other members of the prosperous Motorcycle community Hang out together. This concept continued into the 1960s and 1970s, when the coffee machine racing jacket style as we know it today became popular. The hallmarks of a pilot jacket are a crew neck (similar to that seen on a racing motorcycle jacket), a shorter cut, and the obvious lack of bells and whistles. These details were originally for the bike riding function, but today they make coffee racing an exquisite staple for those looking for a streamlined silhouette.
